Jonathan Kuntzi

Payments & fintech·Account Executive @ PayPal·Orlando, FL

I sell payments infrastructure at PayPal, working with SMB and mid-market companies across PayPal, Braintree, and Venmo. Before that I spent three years as a commercial loan broker, which taught me how operators actually think about growth, cash flow, and risk.

I started out as an EMT. Communicating clearly under pressure and earning trust fast turned out to be the whole job in sales too. I was a science guy in school, a BS heavy on biochem, genetics, and statistics at Delaware, later a business analytics certificate at Berkeley Haas. Long term, I want to develop, build and back companies that reshape how businesses operate.

Track record

Now

Days: complex payment projects at PayPal, helping merchants use checkout and digital wallet infrastructure as a growth lever. I sit close to leadership on merchant strategy and I'm deep in the digital assets and stablecoin side of the industry, where I think the next decade of payments value gets created.

I write about payments / fintech, investments and business development on Substack and post shorter takes on X.

Side quests

Nights and weekends I tinker under Kuntzi Labs, small low/no cost tools for the SMB owners I talk to all day. Current experiments:

Off the clock

Lifting, running, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, usually in some combination. Slowly learning Spanish. Travel whenever I can swing it, poker and trying to get into golf when I can't. The long-term plan is to see most of the world and be a part in investing in its future, which is half the reason I care so much about the building part.
